In the context of the rapid growth of e-commerce and online selling, integrating practical activities into teaching has become an inevitable trend in Marketing education. Recognizing this, students from class 24MK112 of the Faculty of Administration - International Economics at Lac Hong University had the opportunity to gain real-world experience by directly livestreaming product sales on Facebook as part of the Sales Management course.
The course was guided by MBA. Phan Thi Hoi, a lecturer with extensive practical experience, aiming to help students not only master theoretical knowledge but also develop professional sales skills in the digital environment.
LEARNING THROUGH PRACTICE – EXPERIENCING REAL LIVESTREAM SALES
Instead of merely studying theories in the classroom, students were divided into four groups and directly involved in creating sales scripts, preparing products, assigning roles (MC, consultant, sales closer, etc.), and conducting actual livestream sales sessions.
OBS Studio was used as a professional supporting tool, enabling each team to set up livestream sessions with well-organized visuals, audio, and layouts similar to real professional broadcasts.
This activity required students not only to communicate effectively but also to apply multiple essential skills simultaneously, including:
A “LIVE STUDIO” ATMOSPHERE RIGHT IN THE CLASSROOM
The classroom was transformed into mini studios fully equipped with lighting systems, cameras, smartphones, and control computers. Each group demonstrated its own unique style, ranging from energetic and youthful approaches to professional and systematic presentations.
Students showcased creativity in presenting products, interacting with viewers, and implementing promotional campaigns to attract customers. The atmosphere became lively and exciting, resembling a real online marketplace.
SUPPORT FROM LECTURERS AND BUSINESS REPRESENTATIVES
In addition to students’ practical activities, the class also received direct observation and feedback from lecturers and business representatives.
These practical comments helped students quickly identify their strengths and weaknesses while improving their skills according to real labor market expectations.
PRACTICAL VALUES – PREPARING FOR FUTURE CAREERS
Through this activity, students from class 24MK112 were able to:
More importantly, the integration of technology into teaching enables students to keep up with market trends and adapt confidently to real working environments after graduation.
AFFIRMING A PRACTICE-ORIENTED TRAINING APPROACH
The livestream sales activity clearly demonstrates the educational orientation of the Faculty of Administration - International Economics: placing students at the center, connecting theory with practice, and enhancing practical application skills.
Under the dedicated guidance of MBA. Phan Thi Hoi, students not only learn to understand but also learn to apply, practice, and master professional skills in preparation for entering the highly competitive labor market.
